Do The Root Canal
Posted by on November 16, 2003 - 1:24 a.m.

Finally getting some cold weather, woo. Having said that, it's supposed to get sunny soon. -_-

Well, ony midterm left. I actually went home yesterday, mainly because of the second phase of root canal therapy. Apparently they make pia colada flavored anesthetic now. Luckily I got to listen to the Guilty Gear XX #Reload soundtrack while they were drilling my tooth out. Feeling the vibrations from your tooth getting drilled out is weird enough, but seeing some tools coming out of your mouth smoking is even odder. Most of it didn't hurt at least. Apparently I had four nerve roots in that tooth, four being one over the norm, so the anesthetic didn't quite take hold in one (I don't know if having an extra root had anything to do with it, I seem to be uncommonly resistant to anesthetics in general). Anyway, having a half live nerve during root canal is not something I recommend. But anyway, that's all cleared up now, so woohoo.

I was planning to do this comic differently, but decided against it at the last minute. I suppose you could point out that the backgrounds aren't the normal store backgrounds, but you'd probably only notice if you knew the store it was originally based off. Anyway, these backgrounds were eeeeeeasy, so woo.

Er, still have those links floating about, I'll get to them eventually.

Bonus points if you can read the CD title.

-Update- November 19, 2003 - 8:47 p.m.

After reading my rant, I feel compelled to note that it has quite possibly the most boring, dry, rhythmless sentence structure/syntax/whatever that I've ever written, so much so that reading it incurs physical pain in my cerebral cortex. Just thought I'd point that out. Also, in case I can't update in time, the big game's Saturday, so go Cal. Woo. So much spirit. This is, of course, assuming I remember to pick up tickets over the next to days.

On time

Jeez, it really sucks when you have no time for anything. After what seems like 8 midterms, 4 papers, 12 Big assignments, 2 interesting days in NYC and a partrige in a pear tree later, I'm finally having a nice 3 day weekend becuase my school didn't hire a new president(Long story, look up Dan Golden and Boston University if you care).
Anywyas, on today's comic: This actually happened. A bunch of young, rich, WASP punks came to the theater just as we were closing and tried to get tickets to some R rated movie. I usually don't bend anyways, and considering one of my managers was standing 3 feet to my right, there was no way I was going to. But they got beligerent and the "60,000 automobile" line was actually said. Man, I kinda feel sorry for those kids. They're going to get out on their own without daddy's money one day and then where will they be? Oh well.
Also, I realized I guessed wrong when I picked MCI-worldcom earlier. I was wrong(This used to link to Playboy's "Girls of Wal-Mart," but now its just naked girls)
Now, off to DDR it up at MIT

184. Video: Edith and I are up late studying for midterms watching crazy German music videos from the 90s. I'll miss college.
183. Video: Edith, the darling lass pictured above, will be performing this later this semester. I'm not sure what the protocol is when you find out your girlfriend is a zombie, but I guess I'm glad to have advanced warning that she'll be eating my brains at some point.
182. Video: Women in Western Art. Pretty niftay.
181. Comic: Copper is updating again! Glee!
180. Japanese Insanity Guitar Bear Pink Japan: WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?WHAT?
179. Video: Pac Man invasion. Old, I guess, but still required viewing.
178. Comic: Piled Higher and Deeper: So awesome! Also makes me not want to go to gradschool. Though, it worked out for my dad anyway, so who knows.
177. Artist: JF Bruckner: Oh yeah, jfb is awesome too! Right, right, more artists and comics, I forget so easily...
176. Comic: Copper: Copper is my favorite webcomic. Every strip is inspiringly beautiful and bursting with imagination, but beyond that, they consistently resonate with profundity without screaming "Look at ME, aren't I profound!?" I tried to write a lot more corny praise, but just go read all of them instead, you won't be sorry. I was hoping to wait for Kazu Kibuishi to get back to it so I could scream about its return, but it's been quite a while already, so I'll just link it again once that happens.
175. Artist: Mitsui. Life must be hard when you're this awesome. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
174. Comic: The Unfeasible Adventures of Beaver and Steve. I don't actually read this often, but the toaster knob makes me want to. That sentence will make no sense as soon as they update.
173. Humor: Kyle linked me to this, but I can't imagine why. P.S. Kyle sucks.
172. Comic: Socks. Okay, Socks is also amazing. I need to read through both these soon. Yargh.
171. Comic: Minus. Leo just linked me to minus, and it is aggggghjustgoreaditIcan'tthinkofwhattowriteitisamazing.
170. Flash Game: Fancy Pants. Fancy Pants!!! Made me want to drop everything and make an awesome speedy platformer with simple but incredibly smooth smooth animation with my roommates. Who knows what they'd do, but Kyle already agreed to it. Right Kyle? Study for your midterms to signify "yes."
169. Random: Revenge of Zoom Quilt.
168. Comic: Sinfest. How could you not know about Sinfest already? :|
167. Apps: doPdf. People keep asking how to write out pdfs. If you don't own Acrobat Pro, apparently this works.
166. Humor: Then Japan puts Berkeley to shame in the flash mob arena. But c'mon, it's Japan, it's probably weird when stuff like that doesn't happen.
165. Humor: Berkeley ninja flash mob battle royale round 1 fight.
